The Telecaster has been the no.1 choice for many guitarists for years because of its simple design and powerful bridge pickup sound. It serves incredibly well as a rhythm and lead guitar because of the twang that you get from the bridge-plate and strings running through the body.
Original 60s Teles change hands for a small fortune and because of this, Fender Japan have got their range of 60s Teles. So that you can have a guitar that feels like the 60s Teles but built with better, modern construction techniques.
Japanese Tele
Typically, Japanese Teles have got really comfortable necks to play. They're traditionally quite thin, but have also got small vintage frets and quite a round feeling radius of 7.25", allowing your hands to really grip the whole neck. It makes it so easy to fly around the fretboard when you dont have a big chunk of neck getting in the way.
The vintage style pickups also offer something quite different because of their low output. They are smooth on the top end without ever sounding thin and combine well with the snappy tone you get from having a bolt-on neck. It's all part of the recipe that gives a Tele its Twang.
Slim C Neck
The neck profile on this guitar will attract you. Fender have done away with any excess wood in the neck that will get in the way and have left you with a tidy, slim neck shape that is comfortable to hold and easy to play for those fiery blues runs.
With the 7.25" radius, it really feels like a guitar out of the 60s but with the modern design and construction that will allow you to gig this guitar night after night.
