Made in the ESP Tokyo factory, the E-II Series Horizon-III bridges the gap between the LTD models and premium USA and Japanese builds. Expect excellent craftsmanship by some of the best luthiers in Japan and top of the line specs.
The Horizon is a fresh take on the super-strat body shape. ESP have created an even more aggressive, sharp and clean design. The perfect choice for modern players.
Body and neck
The stunning Flamed Maple top is the first thing to catch the eye on the Horizon-III. This is surrounded in a classy white binding on the Alder body that makes the glossy finish pop. A three-piece bright Maple neck has a soft curvature which makes it effortless to play. On top is a dark, tight-grain Ebony fretboard with 24 extra jumbo frets. This guitar is built from the ground up for fast, intricate playing.
A neck-thru design means access to the top frets is the easiest you will ever find on any guitar. The way the neck flows into become the central part of the body provides a quality, high-end aesthetic.
Sound
The Horizon-III is fitted with passive Seymour Duncan pickups, ideal for a full range of clarity and excellent articulation. In the bridge is a high-output alnico Custom 5, which has balanced treble and bass for an even response. This provides huge versatility, but when pushed gain has plenty of punchy attack.
In the neck is the smoother Jazz humbucker. This is clear-sounding, great for cleans or brighter passages. It retains its clarity well even under distortion. You'll be able to get a massive amount of tones from this diverse pickup pairing.
Hardware
This is where the Horizon-III comes into its own. It has unbelievable playability thanks to high-end hardware and precise fitting. The Floyd Rose Original is in a league of its own when it comes to tremolos. Perfected over decades of playing, rest assured you can pull of as many divebombs or flutters as you want without losing tuning. It's even better in combination with the locking nut and Gotoh locking tuners.
Schaller straplocks ensure your guitar will never go flying out your hands, even at adrenaline-filled gigs,
Here's what ESP say about the Horizon-III:
Created at the ESP facility in Tokyo, Japan, the ESP E-II Series is our highest-quality factory-produced instrument collection. The ESP E-II Horizon-III is a bold variation on the classic ESP Horizon shape, with an extended and beveled upper horn and a shortened lower horn. Like other models in the ESP E-II Series, the Horizon-III is a guitar designed for high-level performing, for serious players who can't accept compromises in their instrument's ability to showcase their talent. It's available in two versions: the Horizon-III FR (with Floyd Rose Original bridge in See Thru Black finish) or the standard Horizon-III (in Reindeer Blue finish, with a Gotoh TOM bridge and string-thru-body design). Both models use neck-thru-body construction, providing terrific tone and sustain, and fast access to the highest frets. The E-II Horizon-III offers some of the best-sounding and responsive passive pickups available, with a Seymour Duncan Jazz (neck) and a Seymour Duncan Custom 5 (bridge) pickup. Includes a hard case.
